The ICMF, which is open to church choirs around the world, began in 1984 in England. It has involved choir members from more than 300 churches in America and musicians from more than 28 countries on 6 continents. The 2009 Festival in Rome saw more than 600 church choir members and friends from 11 countries, all singing in one voice, proving that music is indeed the universal language. Prior to the Rome event, the ICMF had been held in England, Switzerland and Germany. For the 2010 event participants sailed to England on the Queen Mary 2 and then traveled back to the “spiritual home” of the ICMF, Coventry Cathedral for an exciting weekend event.
