The 2012 International Church Music Festival will take
place
in Rome, Italy, June 9-15, 2012. Register

What is included in the Festival package?
• 6 nights accommodations in standard first class hotels (central
Rome hotel examples: Universo, Diana, Massimo D’Azeglio)
• Continental buffet breakfast daily/other meals as outlined in
itinerary
• Professional Tour Manager from arrival to departure
• Private local air-conditioned motorcoaches for all services
• All sightseeing, including entrance fees, as follows:
- Vatican / Baroque Rome / Ancient Rome

with local guides)
- Coliseum & Roman Forum; Vatican Museums &

• Expenses and items not specifically noted in the itinerary are
not included in the cost of the tour. These include, but are not limited

Important note: Based on final
numbers of participants, some of the
sight seeing tours may occur on different
days of the week, but all sites listed will
be visited by everyone at some point

The Rome Itinerary
June 9-15. 2012
6/9, Sat. Depart
for festival.
6/10, Sun. Arrive
and transfer into the Eternal City of Rome, head of the great Roman
Empire and seat of Christianity, a city rich with relics and superb monuments.

6/11, Mon. Guided
tour of ancient Rome including the Coliseum and Roman
Forum. Late afternoon assemble at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside
the Walls for Opening Worship, then gather for Welcome Banquet. (B,
D)
6/12, Tue. Morning
rehearsal for singers. Non-singers visit Villa Borghese & gallery.
Afternoon guided tour of Baroque Rome:
Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Evening ICMF International
Concert in the Basilica of St. John Lateran.

6/13, Wed. Papal Audience with Pope
Benedict XVI for whom we have the honour of singing
a short piece of music. Free afternoon for all
to enjoy Rome. Choirs have option to perform mini-concert at Papal
Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. (B)
6/14, Thur. Morning
rehearsal for singers. Non-singers: visit Capitoline
Museums in
the Piazza del Campidoglio. Independent lunch. Private tour of the Vatican
Museums. (B, D)
6/15, Fri. Singers rehearse with
Orchestra. Non-singers:
tour of Mausoleum of Hadrian, (Castel Sant’angelo). Early
evening,
participants gather in the gardens of the Papal Basilica
of St. Paul Outside the Walls for the festival Gala
Concert with Massed Choir and Orchestra. Our Farewell
Party takes place at the Basilica.(B)
6/16, Sat. Departure for home, onward touring, or a full free
day to enjoy Rome on our own, based on our group’s unique program. (B)
